Though Excel ships with a default color palette, once in a while you would like to use color which is not present by default. This hack shows you how to use the color of your choice.
Open the workbook. Select "Tools" -> "Options" and then choose the "Color tab". Now select the color you want to change, and click "Modify".
To replace the selected color on the palette with a different color, click the "Standard" tab, and then the color you want. Click "OK".
One you have saved your favourite color palette, you can use this palette in other worksheets too. Simply open the main work sheet which you are working on, and also open the worksheet where you have the saved palette. Choose "Tools" -> "Options" -> "Colors" and int he "Copy colors from" dialog box, choose the worksheet with your saved palette. It is as simple as that.
