Many tools exist within the Hadoop ecosystem to protect data and secure Hadoop systems at different levels. It can be difficult to sift through these and determine what approach is best when implementing data governance. In this webcast, we briefly outline the options available for data governance in Hadoop today and identify the advantages of protecting data using Accumulo. We present a case study where PHEMI Central uses this approach to realize data governance and access control in a large enterprise that deals with sensitive data.

About Salimah Addetia, Chief Technology Office

As a member of the CTO office, Salimah focuses on innovation and strategy for PHEMI's products. Salimah has extensive experience as an architect and development technical lead and has also worked as a product owner and development manager. Her expertise includes distributed storage systems, virtual technologies and operating system fundamentals such as file systems and caching methodologies. She holds a Bachelors in Computer Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Masters of Engineering from Harvard University.
