Bio

I'm currently head of conversation design outreach at Google. I've been designing Voice User Interfaces since 1999, when I joined Nuance Communications. At Nuance, I designed IVRs for banking, travel, healthcare, personal assistants, and tourism. Since then, I've worked at Tellme/Microsoft (on the Ford SYNC traffic app), and at various startups. At Volio, I created engaging one-on-one conversations with pre-recorded video. One of our apps allowed users to discuss style, hair and mixology tips with Esquire magazine columnists. Previoulsy, I was VP of User Experience for Sensely, where a virtual nurse helps patients with chronic health conditions. I have a B.S. in Cognitive Science and an M.S. in Computer Science.
