Subject: Why is O'Reilly publishing a book on Win95?

Dear Tim,

If Windows 98 is about to be released then why is your company still making a Win 95 in a nutshell book? I really don't understand it.

Concerned and confused,

Peter,

Just as millions of people still use Windows 3.1 years after Windows 95 was released, Windows 95 will be around for years to come. We debated doing the Windows 98 in a Nutshell book first, and then Windows 95 in a Nutshell afterwards, but we realized that there are going to be so many Windows 98 books hitting the shelves in June that we would be better waiting for the dust to settle. As one chain buyer said "Wait for all the first wave of Windows 98 books to be returned before yours comes out."

Besides, Windows 98 is a superset of Windows 95. It's always easier to create a smaller subset first!
