Subject: Looking for a Good Book on Visual C++
Tim,
I was in my local bookstore recently, looking for a Visual C++ book (I'm afraid so) suffice to say I was quite disappointed - any chance of seeing an ORA Visual C++ book ?

Michael,
We don't have any current plans. Three things guide our publishing program:
1) We see that there's no good documentation for some program that we ourselves use a lot.
2) We get a great proposal from someone who's knowledgeable and passionate.
3) We get lots of customer requests like yours. Unfortunately, this is the slowest of the three methods, since we first have to get enough people asking to get us interested, and THEN we have to find someone who knows enough to do an O'Reilly-quality book. So if you have a favorite topic you want to see us do a book on, see if you can send an author our way :-)
(That being said, remember that our primary focus is on freeware and on widely distributed commercial products with poor documentation. We generally don't do books on individual commercial products.)
