Subject: What Careers are Hot?
Tim,
I am doing a career change. I'm about to take an mcse course at a local college. I am curious about your opinion on what is the hot field to get into. My intrest are in doing web pages, graphics, special effects (like in movies) you know, the arts cool stuff. My back ground is more the techincal stuff. Can you give me any thoughts on this? Anything is appreciated.

The "hot field" is the field you love. While there are fashions in computing just as in everything else, what's hot today may be cold by the time you get there. So the best advice is to get interested! Find something that turns you on, or an area where you feel you can make a contribution. If you do that, success will follow.
If you look for "opportunities" you'll often find fools gold. Look for real needs--holes you can fill--and you'll find real opportunities.
