SEBASTOPOL, Calif.--Simon Phipps, IBM Corporation's Chief Java and XML
Evangelist, will kick off the
O'Reilly
Conference on Java on March 27-30, 2000 in Santa Clara, CA. Phipps, who
has led IBM's foray into Java, will set the stage for the four-day conference
on Enterprise Java.
The O'Reilly
Conference on Java is an intensely technical conference for
Java programmers. Tutorials and conference sessions take the
independent, technically rigorous approach that programmers know from
O'Reilly books. The in-depth sessions focus on using Java to build
world-class enterprise applications. Session topics include
Jini in the Enterprise,
XML in the Java 2 Platform,
Portable Data Access in Distributed Enterprise Applications, and
Design Considerations: Migrating from Client Server Applications
to e-business Application. Presenters are Java professionals who have
been intimately involved in the development of the Java language and complex
Java applications. Presenter bios are available online.
"This conference program delves deep into the brave new world of
complex, enterprise-wide Java development," said Joseph McIntyre,
director of O'Reilly's conference operations. "Our conference committee
has designed tutorial and presentation tracks geared exclusively to
hands-on enterprise application developers. This will be the most
technical conference a java programmer can attend this year."
