The images in Raymond Soemarsono's gallery present a strong case that some people are born to be photographers. Raymond had little exposure to this medium until he bought a point-and-shoot digital camera in late 2000. He was instantly hooked. He then upgraded his equipment to include a Canon Digital Rebel, then a 10D, and currently he shoots with an EOS 1D Mark II.
His appetite for photography includes studying the works of accomplished masters as well as taking pictures. Some of his favorite photographers include Weston, Adams, Bresson, Mapplethorpe, Arbus, and Avedon. In addition to his stunning landscape images, Raymond likes to shoot portraits, still lifes, and even occasionally catching a decisive moment. He does so with no formal training. As you can see, Raymond naturally has an eye for this sort of thing.
