"it can't output video to a TV set" - not true. After buying the A/V output cable from Apple ($50, choose composite or
component), mine outputs video to the TV just fine. [Now, if only there was a powerpoint viewer on the thing....]

It's also possible to press the "location" button to have your location guessed (at a resolution of about 1/2 mile). Note
this never works if you're off the internet, and may fail to locate you even when you are.
[I'm guessing they're using some kind of ip-to-coordinate service]

"the iPhone finds out what time it is from an atomic clock out on the Internet." - I verified this to work even when WiFi
and EDGE are off. Most likely, it gets it from the cellular network just like any other phone.
