Errata for MCTS 70-662 Rapid Review: Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server 2010

File share and SharePoint Access Section

File share and SharePoint Access for OWA was a feature of Exchange 2007 which was discontinued in Exchange 2010.

Adding to the confusion is the inclusion in the Exchange 2010 EMC OWA Virtual Directory properties of the interface to configure this discontinued feature. But the feature is not available, and does not work in Exchange 2010. Thus, this section should either note that fact, or should be removed.

DNS Section

In the section labeled DNS and discussing the DNS TXT record the correct command to retrieve the DNS TXT record for Federated Domain Proof is never mentioned. A reader might have the impression that Get-FederationTrust is the appropriate command, but it is not. The correct cmdlet is Get-FederatedDomainProof -DomainName <insert domain to be federated here>

This isn't actually an error, but the reader may be correct that the additional info he mentions could be examined. On page 94, after the line "Get-FederationTrust | FL" please add the following:

The actual parameter should be -RecipientOrganizationalUnitScope

In the text appear New ONLINE Address Book Wizard in the EMC to create an OAB and, in my opinionm it should be New OFFLINE ........

Same issue could be found in page 36 under Creating and configuring OABs.

There is no "New Online Address Book" Wizard in EMC; there is "New Offline Address Book" or "New Address List" wizards instead.

1st paragraph

I may be overlooking something, but it appears that the order of roles to deploy in an upgrade may be incorrect.

Page 8 (Chapter 1), question regarding Exchange service pack level
The order of roles to deploy in an upgrade shows Mailbox and last Unified Messaging.

In the Upgrade Checklists on TechNet pages Microsoft indicates to deploy the Unified Messaging role before the Mailbox role.

Minor point for this exam, I believe.

Final paragraph

The answer supplied in the final paragraph on page 10 suggests installing the Office 2007 filter pack. This should ideally be amended to refer to the Office 2010 filter pack (even if this is just for consistency as the Office 2010 filter pack is referred to on the very next page). For a book that focuses on the latest version of Exchange (i.e. 2010 service pack 2), I would expect that references to prerequisite installation requirements would point to the latest versions of the same.
