Configure OpenStack

- Chapter 7, Configure OpenStack, Page 50. Isn't the configuration file pathname /etc/nova/nova.conf (not /etc/nova.conf)?

Note from the Author or Editor:
This is typo -- when developing your file in etc/nova.conf and I must have copied and pasted inappropriately.

last paragraph

- Chapter 7, Installing Nova Packages, Page 48, "To start iSCSI service...". On my install, the file /etc/default/iscsitarget did not exist. I "created" it by installing the iscsitarget package with the following command:

sudo apt-get install iscsitarget

Then I was able to successfully execute the sed and service commands.

Note from the Author or Editor:
hmmm ... this came with my initial install.

Did you pick the "virtualization" host option during the install ?

I will add this to the book anyway. At worst, it will tell you that you already have it installed.

text in example above versus text in the "warning"

- Chapter 7, Installing Nova Packages, Page 48, text of vgcreate command versus test of the warning about it. The problem is the vgcreate command specifies the name as "nova-volumes" (plural), where as the warning text specifies the name as "nova-volume" (singular).

The vgcreate command is shown as

sudo vgcreate nova-volumes /dev/sde1

But the warning text says

Your volume group needs to be called nova-volume for nova-volume to recognize it. Volumes will not work with another volume group name.

Note from the Author or Editor:
This is a typo.
The flag --volume_group defaults to "nova-volumes" unless you change it in the nova.conf file.

"Configuration Files" section

nova.conf does support comments as long as they are on a new line and have a hash tag at the beginning of the line. The example nova.conf files on this page both are working in test or production systems with comments.

Note from the Author or Editor:
removed comment about comments in newest commit
