Errata for Photoshop CS5: The Missing Manual

Please change the 3rd to last sentence of 2nd acknowledgement graf to read: To Derrick Story for his wisdom and guidance before I got started on this project, and a great big jug of Umbrian vino rosso to Pete Meyers and Dawn Frausto for editing this book and keeping me on track. Their input has made me a better writer and I will forever be grateful to them both.

"... like that, so Adobe ..." "so" not necessary

In the note on page 2, delete the "so" before Adobe in the 2nd sentence.

2nd sentence after "Lens Correction" bullet: "It leapt out the Distort filter..." should be "leapt out of the Distort filter.."

2nd sentence, Fig 1-3 Top: However, it doesn't have to live..." the word "have" is not the correct font - it is not condensed as is the rest of type

Bullet 2, 2nd sentence "You options are.." should be "Your options are.."

1st sentence: "Photoshop gives you a variety ways to.." should be ...gives you a variety "of" ways...

Up To Speed Blue Box, 3rd Paragraph, 3rd sentence: ..."the Background layer in your the Layers panel" should be either "your" or "the" not both.

2nd graf of caption, change "Photoshop CS" to "Photoshop CS5"

"run this command by choosing to Layers-Select..." the word "to" should be deleted

"The next tine you need to..." should be "time"

"..makes the program slightly softening the selection's edges.." should be "soften"

"From the Output To pop-up menu, chose Layer Mask" should be "choose"

Add as a paren onto last sentence of 1st sidebar graf: (and thankfully Photoshop CS5's upsampling ability is better than ever).

Reference should be "Figure 6-21."

"lock all" is discussed on page 105, not 103.

The sentence "Full Coverage of the Clone Source Panel's many options starts on page 311" should actually point readers to page 314 instead.

"Photoshop then asks if you want replace the..." should be ... asks if you want "to" replace...

"You can change the mix setting by double-click its field..." should be "...by double-clicking its field"

step 9, 2nd graf, change last paren to read: (Alt+Shift+right-clicking on a PC).

"...you can customizer brushes..." should read "...you can customize brushes..."

In "...is that you risk of making the repeating pattern...," omit "of."

In "... between the each tip's brush...," omit "the"

"The Direct Selection tool it lives in the..." delete the word "it"

The cross reference for Check Spelling should direct readers to page 600, not page 500.

"Bottom: If you've ever anted text to flow..." - the word "anted" should be "wanted"

"...some paper manufacturer's profiles are better then others" - the word "then" should be "than" - also sentence needs period at end.

"... saving a file is in pdf format is simpler than saving it..." - delete the first instance of the word "is"

"C5" should be "CS5"
