Designing Embedded Hardware, Second Edition by John Catsoulis The unconfirmed error reports are from readers. They have not yet been approved or disproved by the author or editor and represent solely the opinion of the reader. Here's a key to the markup: [page-number]: serious technical mistake {page-number}: minor technical mistake : important language/formatting problem (page-number): language change or minor formatting problem ?page-number?: reader question or request for clarification This page was updated June 2, 2006. UNCONFIRMED errors and comments from readers: [safari 13.12, 256-257 in printed text] Figure 13-36, following 3rd paragraph; also 4th paragraph; Figure 13-36 shows the MC33298 used as a "high side" switching device. However the Freescale datasheet describes it as a "low side power switch". Given this, the fourth paragraph has a corresponding error. Activating a switch does not connect the load to Vpwr (which is the MC33298's MOSFET gate drive supply) but to ground. So the text, "When a given switch is activated, the corresponding output is connected to the VPWR supply..." should be changed to "...the corresponding output is connected to ground..."
