Great, but ..., February 11 2005

No, it will never be updated. We published the CD Bookshelves as a transitional product while we were launching Safari Books Online (safari.oreilly.com). That is now the way to get our online content.
And while I know it was very convenient to get a set of books on CD, and the product line was quite successful, we had an awful lot of cloning going on, with duplicate copies sold on eBay and other sites, as well as posted on public internet servers. While we're not big on copy protection, and recognize that "piracy" can have beneficial effects on some products (see my essay, Piracy is Progressive Taxation), we believe that Safari offers a better blend of convenience for the user and revenue-generation for our authors.

This was great at first, five years ago, but now is so out of date (there are new editions of nearly every book in this collection) that I don't find it much use anymore. Will this ever be updated? How heard could it be to change the contents of a CD to different PDF files???
The Oracle PL/SQL CD Bookshelf Review, November 10 2000
As a consultant, I depend on having the right answers available when they're needed. This compilation of books gives me an easily portable collection of seven of the best PL/SQL references available. The ebooks are collections of HTML pages, readable with any browser. The included search engine allows you to search through all the books, or a single book at a time (though not a limited subset of books) for keywords or phrases. The included "Oracle PL/SQL Programming Guide to Oracle8i Features" is an excellent book in its own right, with the typical well-written, entertaining, and informative prose that Feurstein fans are enamored with. This package is an incredible value.

"My conclusion is that this CD bookshelf is very useful, if you want to use it as a reference manual on PL/SQL. If on the other hand you want to learn how to use PL/SQL, or perhaps want to know about some specifics pertaining PL/SQL, I would suggest to buy one or two of these books since this would be cheaper anyway." --Arjan Jansen, Dr Bob's Programming books, Jan 2001
