The animal on the cover of DHCP for Windows 2000 is a frilled coquette hummingbird (Lophornis magnificus). Most of the over 300 species of hummingbirds make their home in South America. Their very rapid wingbeat produces the humming sound that gives these tiny birds (the smallest is only about five and a half centimeters long!) their name.
