Here's a key to the markup: [page-number]: serious technical mistake {page-number}: minor technical mistake : important language/formatting problem (page-number): language change or minor formatting problem ?page-number?: reader question or request for clarification UNCONFIRMED errors and comments: (all) I noticed that there is no reference to the Private Address Space (RFC 1918), i.e., IP subnets 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255, 172.16.0.0 - 172.32.255.255, 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255, in this book. It is something you might want to add to it. {64, 65} 1st paragraph; RFC 1725 is now obsoleted by RFC 1939. (66) 1st paragraph in MIME section, fourth line; "then it is with the mechanics of delivery." should read "than it is with the mechanics of delivery." (98) 1st paragraph, 3rd line; Change "offer" to "offered" {129} 1st paragraph; The next to last sentence reads: The address (172.16.12.2) is correct, but the address mask (ffff0000 or 255.255.0.0) and the broadcast address (172.16.0.0) are incorrect. These values are in reference to the "ifconfig le0" command near the top of page 128. The broadcast address reported by this command is (172.16.255.255). Therefore, the sentence should read: The address (172.16.12.2) is correct, but the address mask (ffff0000 or 255.255.0.0) and the broadcast address (172.16.255.255) are incorrect. {167} 2nd paragraph from the bottom; The only route that does not require a command is one on Linux. All others I have tested (Solaris 2.6, 7, 8, HP-UX 11i, Tru64 5.1, AIX 4.3) require a command. (200) 5th paragraph; In the third sentence, ... created but the ifconfig command ... should read ... created by the ifconfig command ... (225) 4th paragraph; In the last sentence, the word "configuration" is misspelled.
