It should read: "root partition." {77} last code sample; in the errata for the 03/01 published edition of this book, you mention that you corrected the code to read as ls -l (el) from its previous ls -1 (one). The correct answer is in fact the former, using -1 (one). using -l causes the long format listing of ls to be piped into the subse quent commands, and causes errors. The better solution, may in fact be to remove the -1 altogether, as it is not really needed. {79} 1st code sample; When doing directory duplications accross a network the -B option is neccessary: rsh "cd ; tar -cBf - ." | tar -xvBf - This is interesting on the one hand, but I wonder whether this option is needed for local dir copies too. (85) In the third paragraph, change: "including for the presence" to: "including checks for the presence" (196) 'Facist or Slave?' Box The word 'hoards' probably was supposed to be 'hordes'. ?394? In the paragraph beginning "One of the directories in the...," should "./organic" read "./inorganic"? (559) The sixth line from the bottom of the page now reads: "The following command displays the current status of destinations PS and PS2:" To match the example that follows, it should read: "The following command displays the current status of destinations PS and LP2:"
