That name was correct in the 7.x days, but it is incorrect for Oracle8 and Oracle8i. DBW0 is the correct process name in Oracle8 and Oracle8i. Two pages later, under the list item describing the DBWR process, the authors do correctly note that the correct names are DBW0, DBW1, DBW2...DBW9.
