Must Have, July 10 2006
If you are running Squid this book is a must. I don't think I've ever said this about a computer book, but it is worth every penny.
Very good book!, December 12 2004
This book has been a great help when I was setting up a Squid proxy. This book is lying on my desk everytime I connect to the proxy machine.
If you need to administer a Squid proxy: buy this book!

Hello,
this is a felicitous book, good to work with!
An appendix with a list of basic packages the system needs for installation of certain skills would be nice (e.g SuSE Linux: openssl-source-tree for ssl-header files, libtool, etc.) - or just a forum to post hints like that in relation to the book.
Thank's for taking time to write this volume.
Christopher

"This is 'The Book' for Squid. No skipping from chapter to chapter, the author was also the designer and still one of the maintainers, fuller descriptions of the configuration file directives that the configuration file comments. It is a great reference."
