Actually, a factual or historical mistake, so I selected the only option, "Question or request for clarification." This paragraph says that the "hertz" was named after the electrical pioneer Gustav Ludwig Hertz, which is obviously wrong. The hertz is named in honour of Heinrich Rudolf Hertz, who was Gustav's uncle.
73,
Robert, VA3ROM

Note from the Author or Editor:
This is true. The name should be changed to "Heinrich Rudolf Hertz".

Parts list bullet #14

The parts list calls for a 10pF capacitor. I cannot find a 10pf in the project description. The kit does not include a 10pF capacitor nor is it on the parts check list. I am proceeding with the project but am concerned about missing component.

Note from the Author or Editor:
Parts list of Experiment 1, bullet #14, on Page 1 in the printed book.
The 10pF capacitor should be marked as optional.
"Ceramic capacitors 10pF (1, optional), ..."

It is only mentioned as a brief experiment on p.21 (print), not needed for any other circuits.

Fig. 7-8

Schematic 7-8 has an error in the connection of pin 4 of the 7555. It appears connected to ground instead of 3.3V.

Note from the Author or Editor:
Pin 4 of the 7555 should be connected to 3.3V, not to ground.
The corresponding breadboard image in 7-7 is correct.

“Drag your mouse to highlight code 7115876 on line 27”

“7115876 on line 27” is in neither figure 9-9 or figure 9-10. Where did 7115876 come from?

Note from the Author or Editor:
It should say “1328149 on line 27”
