Authors state that PCI DSS only applies to the credit card processing infrastructure.

More accurately, PCI DSS also applies any entity that stores, processes or transmits cardholder data (CHD) and/or sensitive authentication data (SAD).

Note from the Author or Editor:
Change 4th paragraph line from "PCI DSS standards only apply to systems that are involved the processing, storing, and maintaining of credit card processing infrastructure."

to

"PCI DSS standards only apply to systems that store, process, or transmit cardholder data and or sensitive authentication data."
