I think something has gone missing here: the body and footer are filled with "nothing". I cannot imagine that this is going to work as expected.

Right, so 6-20 didn't get processed correctly because of the handlebars template notation. The proper content should be like that found here: https://github.com/danveloper/learningratpack-code/blob/master/ch6/serving-dynamic-content/handlebarsjs/src/ratpack/handlebars/welcome.hbs
