The last sentence states that "the business case was created by the Develop Project Charter, which is part of the Initiating process group". This tells readers that the business case is an output, which is incorrect.

The business case is actually an INPUT into the Develop Project Charter process. Other inputs include the project SOW, agreements, EEFs, and OPAs. The only output of the Develop Project Charter process is the project charter.

The explanation of the error states, "When you're getting the sponsor and stakeholders to formally accept the results of the project, you're doing Validate Scope. The text explaining the answer is wrong or at least misleading: for the 25 month period, the 3rd year has already started! So the 10.000 $/year for maintenance would end up in 30.000 $ if those costs are paid yearly.
In this case none of the answers would apply (renting is still cheaper also for answer D, 25 months)…

So I assume that these costs are distributed proportionally over the months. In this case they'd be 25/12*10000 $ = 20.833 $. This would give the correct answer D (buying is cheaper than renting now).

But just using the 20.000 $ figure, as it is done in the book, seems plain wrong.

If asking for a thing like "teaming agreement", shouldn't that term be explained before? I can't remember reading about it in the book, and if were indeed mentioned there, it's at least not contained in the index…

Actually the term is not even included in the PMBOK guide, so I very much doubt that it makes sense to have a question on it in the book (it will no appear in the exam either).

Several of the given figures do not fit together. For example: if BAC is $90,000 and EAC is $92,100, how can the difference VAC (VAC = BAC-EAC) be -$2,600? It should be -$2,100 then.
Or: if AC is $25,100 and ETC is $45,600, how can their sum EAC (as ETC = EAC-AC) be $92,100?

Something got totally mixed up here with the numbers in this example!

There is no such thing as "Administer Contracts". Probably this is an outdated PMP term from earlier versions of the PMBOK guide? The correct term probably should be "Control Procurements" for this process…
