Page 76, there are four equations, one at the bottom of the first
column, and three in the second column. Please replace these equations
with these substitutes:

V = I * R

W = V * I

W = I^2 * R

W = V^2 / R

The second equation is actually unchanged but I am including all four
so there is less chance of misunderstanding. The terms I^2 and V^2 use
2 as a superscript.

Column 1, paragraph 2

The text states that the common symbol for an inductor is shown in Fig 14-1 at the bottom. And yet throughout the chapter on inductors the author uses the symbol that the text indicates is obsolete. Seems strange to point out the newer 'best practice' and turn right around and use the older symbol.

Thank you for catching this. We'll be adding a note indicating that while the bottom symbol is becoming more common, that the top symbol is not obsolete. Although one style may become more common, it is important to be familiar with both because the prevalence of one over the other varies over time, between geographic regions, and subdisciplines/specialties.

Column 1, bottom of the first full paragraph beginning "Another model is the "corkscrew rule"...

the phrase "as the" has been duplicated:

..."in the same as the direction as the resulting magnetic force"...

should read

..."in the same direction as the resulting magnetic force."

The formula indicated lacks two parentheses...

reads L = approx (D2 * N2) / 18 * D) + (48 * W

should read L = approx (D2 * N2) / (18 * D) + (48 * W)

I have been told by a retired electrical engineer that the rectifier pictured is not a silicon rectifier but rather a selenium rectifier

First line of 2nd column, immediately below header "Values"

I'm not certain, but I think perhaps instead of:

"The triggering voltage of a UJT can be...."

this is intended:

"The triggering voltage of a PUT can be..."

so, PUT instead of UJT

In my copy of the printed book this error appears on page 238 not page 232. Either way, it is on the fourth page of chapter 27, first line following the "Values" subhead. Change UJT to PUT. Also in the third para on the same page, beginning "Typically", change UJT to PUT.
