Note

The file paths for installing the TWAIN plug-in are incorrect. The note should read:

In Elements11, you'll need to move the AdobeTWAIN driver(Twain_32.8ba), if your scanner requires it, before you can scan into Elements. In Windows, go to C:\Program Files [Program Files(x 86) for 64-bit systems]\ Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Optional Plug-Ins, find the Import-Export folder, and move it to C:\ Program Files [Program Files(x 86) for 64-bit systems]\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Plug-ins. If you don't want to hassle with this, you may be able to use WIA (the Windows system scanning) instead, from both the Editor and the Organizer.

On a Mac, go to Applications→Adobe Photoshop Elements 11→Support Files→Optional Plug-Ins, and move the ImportModules folder from there into Applications→Adobe Photoshop Elements 11→Support Files→Plug-Ins.

text with Figure 3-2

A sentence (the 4th one) in the text associated with Figure 3-2 reads:

"Also, check for That doesn't seem to be a problem in this image."

It looks like part of a sentence got merged with another sentence.

Note from the Author or Editor:
The sentence in question should read:

Also, check for problems like you see here, where Elements can't split the photos because it can't draw a straight line to divide these two without chopping off the corners.

Delete the next sentence beginning: It was more evident....

Tip

Delete the section in parentheses at the end of the second line. This bit:

(8-1/2 x 11 inches is always portrait, for example)

needs to go now that adobe has added some landscape templates.

When you Save a Photo Collage made in Create, the file will automatically be saved as a .pse file. (There is no option to save it in .psd format.) The saved .pse file will always open in Create, and cannot be opened in the regular Editor. To open the file in the regular editor, you must make a .psd file: Select the .pse file in the Organizer. File>Export as New File(s). In the dialog box, change the File Type to .psd. Click Export.

Note from the Author or Editor:
Page 513, last sentence. Replace the sentence beginning "You can save it in any standard format..." with:

You have to save your collage as a PSE filea special format just for multi-page Elements documents (see the box on page 520 for details)or a PDF file.
